Course Objective: To provide specialists with basic knowledge of tax legislation and teach them how to apply it in practice: calculate taxes, prepare tax returns, and understand how tax decisions affect a company's financial results. The course is designed to move from theory to practice. It focuses on key taxes and aspects: - Fundamentals of the tax system (the concept of tax, elements of taxation); - Corporate income tax (composition of income and expenses, accounting for depreciation, specifics of individual transactions); - Personal income tax (payers, taxable object, rates, tax deductions); - Value Added Tax (payers, taxable object and base, rates, benefits, refund procedures, reporting); - Simplified taxation system and other special regimes. The material is presented in a "from simple to complex" manner: first, basic concepts and principles, then analysis of specific situations and problem solving. Students must be familiar with current regulations (usually those in effect six months prior to the exam) and be able to apply this knowledge in practical cases. Overall, this course lays the foundation for an accountant or financial specialist: so they can not only maintain accounting records in accordance with IFRS but also competently develop a company's tax policy, avoiding risks.
